The Japanese apparel company is seeking a seasoned and performance driven E-Commerce Manager to lead our digital development and drive the growth of their website. The E-commerce Manager will be responsible for the e-commerce P&L and take a leading role in developing and executing our digital strategy including merchandising, marketing, and customer experience. This role is based in New York with the option to work remotely.
Responsibilities

• Budgeting, forecasting, and buying for their website.
• Optimize site engagement, product discovery, conversion, and user experience through merchandising, storytelling, UI, and marketing
• Be the primary liaison between direct channels (e-commerce and brick-and-mortar) and cross-functional teams at headquarters in Japan
• Actively collaborate with retail store manager to optimize merchandising and marketing and ensure brand consistency between channels
• Analyze sales, inventory levels, and KPI and convert insights into actions
• Support digital marketing activities including paid advertising, newsletters, and SEO
• Conduct AB testing and initiate site enhancements
• Manage hiring and development of the e-commerce team
• Act as a product and market expert on competition and industry trends

Qualifications
• Proficient in written and spoken Japanese
• 5+ years of experience in e-commerce, merchandising, or retail store management (preferably in women’s apparel or vertical retail)
• Strong analytical skills and ability to convert insights into actions
• Organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Strong Excel skills and ability to quickly learn internal systems
• Experience with Shopify and ERP systems preferred

Salary: $125k (DOE)
Hours: Hybrid (*WFH is accepted, but you need to go to the office if necessary.)
