Global manufacturer seeks a Product Sourcing Specialist.

Job Title: Product Sourcing Specialist
Department: Global Sourcing
Reports To: Global Sourcing Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY:
Identifies, sources, and ranks potential product suppliers to meet product demand for sales customers.
Utilizes English and Japanese language skills to build supplier relationships, pricing negotiations, and delivery
of product samples timely to Category Managers and Sales departments.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
 Source and rank suppliers for products from global group based on competitive requirements and
quality standards
 Communicate with global group, both orally and in writing using English and Japanese language
skills
 Act as liaison to initiate pre-selection of materials and product sets
 Assist in developing product packs, specifications, and pricing, with foreign manufacturers
collaborating with Sales, Creative and Product Development departments
 Assist with negotiating pricing with suppliers
 Act as liaison with suppliers with regard to quality maintenance through Factory Audits, During
Production Inspections (DPI) and Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI)
 Manage prototype samples and ensure type and quality meet all standards during product
development process
 Identify issues and offer appropriate solutions at the development stage to ensure a high-level of
execution
 Maintain strong, professional factory relationships with solid results
 Assist with a variety of project-related work and daily management tasks related to material sourcing,
usage tracking and forecasting and price reconciliation
 Assist with developing new ideas and creative solutions to product categories
 Communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of people internally and externally to
accomplish Company’s goals and objectives
 Perform similar level or nature of duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
 Bachelor’s degree or equal number of years’ experience; and,
 Two (2) to three (3) years of related work experience

Knowledge of:
 International manufacturing and product construction
 Multicultural business customs, primarily in Japan
 Research and development processes
 Logistics or full supply chain processes
