Job Purpose
Production Control is responsible for all the manufacturing-related activities in a factory. Their primary duties include planning, coordinating and controlling all the steps in the production process to make sure products are delivered on time and within the budget
Essential Job Duties
1. Coordination of Production Capacity and Material Planning:You are responsible for coordinating production capacity and material planning. This involves ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time to maximize the machine build plan.
2. Establishing and Implementing Best Practices:You establish and implement methods and best practices related to systems and
processes that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, material control, and scheduling. These practices contribute to efficient operations and cost-effectiveness.
3. Achieving Key Metrics: As a leader, you drive the organization to achieve key metrics such as working
capital, inventory turns, days on hand, on-time delivery, and schedule adherence. These metrics directly impact overall performance.
4. Understanding and Contributing to KPIs:You understand the department's key performance indicators (KPIs) and actively
contribute to achieving these goals both individually and as part of a team. This alignment ensures everyone works toward common objectives.
5. Supplier Strategies and Quality Assurance:You collaborate with the purchasing department to develop and implement
supplier strategies. Ensuring correct delivery, quality, and supply flow of productsfrom vendors is crucial for smooth operations.
6. Managing Material Demand and Flow: You manage material demand and flow through a series of production
mechanisms. This flexibility allows you to handle fluctuations in forecasts while ensuring timely availability of components.
7. Forecasting Product Needs:By gathering, analyzing, and validating data, you forecast product needs. Accurate forecasting helps optimize inventory and production planning.
8. Building Strong Partnerships: You actively develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships both within and outside the organization. These relationships contribute to supplying high-quality products and achieving customer satisfaction.
9. Maintaining a Safe Work Environment: Implementing and aligning company policies with health and safety regulations is
