Japanese company seeks a candidate for QA Manager.

A. JOB PURPOSE:

• To direct Quality Assurance (QA) programs across all levels of the projects, customizing approach and direction as per the specifications of the contract in question, through constant and diligent communications with customers
• Prepare, review and approve verification and qualification test protocols and reports for assigned projects
• Analyze and grade the quality management systems of the supply chain, while undertake audits and other preventative or corrective measures to ensure the highest standards of vendor performance
• Provide well-written reports and supporting documentation
• Communicate with customer quality teams to communicate QA practices and procedures
• Develop and enhance QA processes internally customized to North American transit customer requirements
B. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze reliability of components, subassemblies, and systems
• Work with project teams across engineering and manufacturing to apply design for reliability to ensure warranty requirements
• Develop and drive implementation of the steps of the reliability program
• Standardize reliability requirements for key product lines
• Drive standard reliability methods and models
• Drive knowledge sharing of past root cause corrective actions across the team
• Lead projects to evaluate alternate materials and technologies that can drive environment robustness and achievement of reliability goals
• Drive improved reliability awareness and practice across the global team
• Communicate accurately across boundaries with stakeholders, direct team members, suppliers, and members of the extended team
• Lead the adoption of tools for reliability life cycle management
• Coordinate with reliability engineers for other businesses/ product lines to drive commonality and leverage synergies
• Support design innovation and robustness
• Drive standardization, one-time qualification, and continuous reliability improvement in key components
• Manage quality assurance personnel(s).

C. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering management or equivalent
• Over five years’ experience in quality management
• Experiences in electronics reliability and reliability testing
• Good knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes (Surface mount, Thru- Hole, Testing, etc.)
• Demonstrate ability in engineering analysis, component selection, problem solving, and design execution success with specific
• Self-starter, highly motivated, independent work skills, and program skills
• Possess extensive experience working with sourcing and a diversity of suppliers in the electronics industry
• Possess superior understanding of product standards and regulatory agency requirements
• Possess experience working in global / international team environments
• Proven ability to communicate effectively across the design team, take ownership and drive results
• Ability to conduct quality assurance checking by following the ISO standard.
• Advanced knowledge of quality control processes (specific to the manufacturing sector)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Power point, Outlook, Project or similar
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively participate in a multidisciplinary team
• Possess knowledge of statistical techniques and problem solving tools
• Experience with all types of QA testing and tools
• Willingness to travel both domestically and overseas
• Must be able to work any shift and extra hours

D. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which requires visual and manual ability. There will also be instances where he/she may have to do some lifting of supplies and materials from time to time
• This position is located in a busy, open area office and he/she may be faced with constant interruptions and must meet and communicate in person, by computer and by telephone with others on a regular basis.
• This position must spend long hours in intense concentration.
• There are a number of deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant stress.
• This position must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues.
