Summary
Silicon Valley, the group company is searching for
SVP Assistant specialist to join our development team in San Jose California. We are seeking a person
with creativity and technical skills to support projects in the area of Renewable Energy and Mobility and Info-
communication system and materials which are related to R&D departments of Electric Industries.
This position requires a technically understanding individual who can work with engineers and scientists at
Innovation office and work with remotely several R&D departments of HQ in Japan to create new R&D themes
and business in U.S . The candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
eagerness to learn and grow and have a flexible approach to solving problems.
Key Responsibilities
SVP and Corporate Secretary (20%)
(a) To support the President/CEO on ICS operation and future planning.
(b) As the corporate secretary, issue the BoD meeting agenda and meeting minutes (BoD meeting, once a year; BoD letters, two-three times a year)
(c) As the operation officer, responsible for the various audits by State, City and/or SEG internal
(d) Responsible to take President/CEO role in case of absent
(e) Updating company policies and company documents
HR (20%)
(a) Work with a business specialist and HR contractor to manage daily HR
(b) Determine the local employee's salary with President and SVP
(c) Update the benefit policies including employee insurance, group activities, other benefits (anniversary, gift cards, etc)
(d) Office management: purchase and maintain company car, furnitures and office supplies
(e) Support recruitment activity; work with recruiters, providing the offer letters or visa support
(f) Relaion with employees including but not limited to workplace safety, ethics and addressing concerns
IT (10%)
(a) Work with a business specialist and IT team to manage the PC and other IT assets (phones, WiFi routers, pads)
(b) Provide support for email address, company system login, internal authorization system and a printer/copier
(c) Maintain the common file server for the company
(d) Provide necessary notification on cybersecurity trainings and latest secrurity incidents
Accounting (15%)
(a) Provide necessary tax related documents to KPMG
(b) Manage the asset records of the company
(c) Authorize the monthly accounting reports
(d) Maintain the necessary accounting policies such as purchasing
Accounting (Currently outsourced to Japan, 25%)
(a) Monthly Financial Closing. Oversee and coordinate month end closing process for all of Service Recipient’s previous month’s financial transactions.
(b) Monthly Financial Reports. Prepare Service Recipient’s monthly financial reports to Service Recipient’s Board of Directors.
(c) Outsourcing Annual Accounting Audit. Oversee and coordinate all activities related to the annual accounting audit of Service Recipient.
(d) Budget Planning. Oversee and coordinate Service Recipient’s annual budget planning process.
(e) Taxation Issues. Address Service Recipient’s issues related to taxation, including transfer pricing, income tax returns, and R&D tax returns.
Open Innovation (30%)
(a) Manage the open innovation activity in the company. Coordinate with the parent company in Japan and the company.
(b) Plan the cooperation activity and manage the workshop held every six months. Coordinate with the company president.
(c) Research and create the new R&D project for the company; work with team members.
Qualifications/Required
• Bachelor degree; Master degree preferred.
• Preferred 5years of Accounting or Finance experience or equivalent to the same experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills including development and delivery of presentations, proposals, and
technical documents.
• Self-motivated, proactive self-learner with great problem solving skill.
• Fluency in Japanese to communicate with Japanese counter part.
