Japanese electronics manufacture seeks a Field Application Engineer.

We are currently seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join our growing team in the US. The ideal candidate will have experience working with major North American appliance manufacturers, power semiconductor manufacturers, or electric motor manufacturers, and will be able to offer technical expertise to integrate our products into customer designs. This position is responsible for providing technical support to customers, evaluating and selecting products, troubleshooting, and offering technical expertise to drive sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support to customers in the home appliance industry or equipment manufacturers whose end-users are in the home appliance industry across North and South America, including semiconductor component evaluation, design-in support, and troubleshooting.
• Offer technical advisory on home appliances and semiconductor/electronic products and assist with product introductions.
• Collaborate with the sales team to conduct product demos, technical presentations, and training for customers.
• Analyze market trends and competitive products, provide feedback for product development, and drive sales growth through strategic sales planning and execution.
• Propose new applications and technical solutions based on customer needs.
• Build strong relationships with customers and act as a trusted technical advisor.
• Provide technical training programs to customers, distributors, and sales representatives to spread technical knowledge.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback, identifying opportunities and threats, and provide valuable reports to headquarters' business units.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, marketing, engineering, and quality control to enhance customer satisfaction and resolve technical issues.
Qualifications:
• Proactive approach, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to build good teamwork relationships.
• 3+ years of experience in design, FAE, technical support, or customer-facing roles in the home appliance, industrial equipment, or semiconductor industries.
• In-depth knowledge of semiconductors and electronics related to home appliance or industrial equipment design.
• Connections with North American appliance manufacturers (such as Whirlpool, GE Appliances, Regal Rexnord, Nidec) and an understanding of their product development processes.
• Experience providing face-to-face technical support or sales assistance to customers and making technical proposals based on customer needs.
• Ability to conduct competitive analysis, monitor market trends, and make technical proposals.
• Ability to independently learn about new products and applications.
• Willingness to travel, with approximately 40-60% travel expected for customer acquisition, relationship building, and technical problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in the home appliance, industrial equipment, or semiconductor industries.
• Experience with appliance manufacturers (e.g., Whirlpool, GE Appliances) or semiconductor companies (e.g., STMicroelectronics, Infineon, OnSemi).
• Knowledge or experience in circuit simulation and PCB layout is a plus.
• Relevant semiconductor engineering experience with high-voltage motor drivers, power ICs, etc.
• Experience providing technical sales support for power semiconductors or related products as an agent or sales representative.
• Knowledge and experience with the latest technologies in power semiconductors or the home appliance industry within the last 5 years.
Salary:
• Salary range is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Adjusted according to market rate and the candidate's expertise.
• $100,000 - $160,000
Work Hours & Style:
• 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, on-site work.
