SUMMARY:
The Outside Sales is responsible for cultivating and managing customer relationships in the field, driving sales initiatives, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, acquiring orders, and increasing sales revenue. The representative responds to customer inquiries and ensures effective communication between customers and manufacturing facilities. Focusing on both direct sales and distributor partnerships, the Outside Sales Representative works to achieve sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and follow-up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under supervision, the Inside Sales Coordinator is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
New Customer Acquisition
Research and approach potential customers to create new business opportunities.
Customer Relationship Building
Strengthen relationships with existing customers through effective communication and trust-building.
Market Analysis
Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to develop strategic sales plans.
Product Proposals and Presentations
Propose products based on customer needs and deliver technical presentations.
Execution of Sales Strategy
Implement sales strategies to achieve targets and maximize revenue.
Order Management
Manage the order process and follow up on delivery schedules and customer requirements.
Feedback Collection
Gather customer feedback and leverage it for product improvements and new product development.
Team Collaboration
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., engineering, marketing, customer service) to provide
comprehensive customer support.
Sales Reporting
Regularly report on sales activities and progress to inform strategic adjustments.
Continuous Learning
Stay updated on product knowledge and industry developments to enhance expertise.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1,High school education or the equivalent required, with additional training in use of
computers and customer/sales service.
2,Two to three years of relevant outside sales experience is desirable, particularly with experience in the electronics or manufacturing industry.
3,General knowledge of shipping and billing procedures desired, including import/export
shipping requirements. General knowledge or experience in basic accounting helpful. Proficiency in
use of AS400 system as well as Microsoft Office software and the use of spreadsheets required.
Effective oral and written communications required to deal effectively with customers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical requirements of normal office environment. Uses hands and arms to reach for
papers, writing instruments, and other office equipment. Utilizes speaking and hearing senses to
communicate with others. Typically, does not lift more than 10 – 15 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normal office environment may occasionally travel to customer sites; less than 5% of time
spent traveling, typically by airplane and automobile.
