The Accounting Director is responsible for overseeing the accounting department's operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, experience, and a solid understanding of balance sheet reconciliation, accounts receivable management, regulatory reporting, accrual accounting principles, journal entries, debits, credits, and general ledger maintenance. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required (or equivalent experience), and CPA certification is preferred. This role requires excellent leadership skills to effectively manage a team of accountants and clerks.

Duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department
- Manage and supervise a team of accountants and clerks
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders
- Conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Monitor accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of payments
- Ensure compliance with securities laws, financial services regulations, and other relevant industry standards
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by governing bodies
- Perform accrual accounting and make necessary journal entries
- Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement

Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience)
- CPA certification preferred
- Proven experience in corporate accounting, preferably in a managerial role
- Proficiency in using accounting software
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation, accounts receivable management, and regulatory reporting
- Familiarity with accrual accounting principles and ability to perform journal entries
- Solid understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger maintenance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of ERP
Knowledge of all accounting cycles (AR, AP, GL, Inventory costing)
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP. Understanding of financial audit process and requirements
Knowledge of all facets of sales and use tax compliance issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of income tax compliance is a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
Experience at any big accounting firm and/or companies for at least a couple of years preferred.
