Japanese food manufacturer is seeking an experienced FSQA Assistant Manager.

Assistant manager of FSQA (Food Safety and Quality Assurance) will be responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Quality Assurance standards, which include but not limited to:

· Review and maintain of all Quality Assurance and Food safety records, documents pertaining to HACCP, USDA (FSIS), FDA, and TX Health Department
· Coordinate activities with regulatory agents such as USDA Inspector, FDA Auditor, TX state Inspector
· Develop and Implement HACCP plans (RTE/NRTE) for new products
· Ability to prepare and directly manage customer audits and Product RECALL
· Work with customer QA team and provide CAPA on customer complaints
· Oversee inspection of incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods to ensure the highest quality of products are delivered to customers
· Initial and ongoing training of the employees on policies and procedures
· Ability to solve quality and food safety related problems
·Check quality of the product and inspection of plant sanitation
·Work with customer and FSIS Inspector for current and new product labels approval.
·Organize, maintain FSQA documents and supervise FSQA Team
·Conduct shelf-life study for new products and ingredients
·Work closely with third party sanitation teams for SSOP implementation
·Develop, document, and maintain the procedures and training materials required to ensure compliance with FSQA requirements
· Ability to deal with a variety of compliance situations and implement continuous improvement
· Must be able to function within a team environment
· Competent to work independently within area of expertise

· Previous knowledge working in food Industry Quality Assurance or related experience
· Bachelor of Science in Food Science (desirable), Biology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field
· Knowledge of government regulations and role of FDA, USDA, Food Code & Crisis Management
· Certification in HACCP, Seafood HACCP, Food Defense, PCQI, Sanitation and GMP
· Bilingual (English and Spanish)-Preferred
· Proficient with Microsoft Office
·Good written and verbal communication skills
· Detail oriented and organizational skills
· Able to multitask and work independently with minimum supervision
