There are two types of resume

Reverse Chronological (Emphasis on your experience)
- It is effective when you progress up a clearly defined career ladder.
Functional or Analytical (Emphasis on your skills)
- This format brings you an advantage that a potential employer can see immediately how you fit the job.

Resume should contain the following information

  • Name
  • Address
  • E-mail Address
  • Phone number where you can be reached or receive messages
  • Objective
  • Experience
  • Skills

When you write a resume

  • Use specifics - a specific description of your duties will avoid making a vague impression.
  • Identify accomplishment - mention if you succeeded in projects, improved productivity, reduced costs, increased clients, or achieved any other goals.
  • Keep your resume length down to 2 pages at the most.
  • Have someone proofread your resume carefully.
  • Leave all negative information off the resume, but be ready to deal with it in a positive fashion at a interview.
  • Use good printer and paper to print out your resume.
