Job Summary
The company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting, month-end processes, payroll, cash management, and compliance. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage financial operations effectively. Fluency in both English and Japanese is preferred to facilitate communication with our headquarters in Japan.
Key Responsibilities
I. Financial Statement Preparation (English & Japanese)
Prepare Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, and Manufacturing Cost Schedule
Compile and maintain supplemental schedules
Prepare and submit quarterly financial reports to Japan
II. Month-End Closing
Prepare month-end journal entries
Review and approve month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
III. Payroll Management
Review new hire information and employee data changes
Oversee and approve payroll processing
Prepare month-end payroll-related journal entries
IV. Cash Management
Monitor daily bank balances
Review and approve wire transfers
Report cash movement to Treasury
Review cash balances and manage short-term loan borrowing as needed
V. Accounts Payable
Approve purchase order (PO) verification
Review and approve vendor invoices
VI. Accounts Receivable
Approve cash receipt proof lists
Monitor accounts receivable balances
VII. Miscellaneous Responsibilities
Develop and manage the annual budget
Prepare and file sales and use tax reports and other tax-related filings
Coordinate internal and external audits
Provide financial data to tax accountants for federal and state tax filings
Ensure compliance with JSOX regulations
Manage and coordinate transfer pricing studies
Evaluate the performance of the accounting team and provide leadership and development
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Fluent in English and Japanese (preferred)
Strong knowledge of GAAP, JSOX, and tax regulations
Experience with ERP systems and accounting software
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
