Detail: Japanese laser-based cutting and welding machine manufacturer seeks a Field Engineer.
Position Title: Field Engineer
Location: Novi, MI
Reports to: Service Manager
Salary: $70k
POSITION SUMMARY:
1. Business trips / customer visits for service work 35%
・Equipment inspection / on-site services from inquiries / maintenance support / production support / remodeling work / machine installation
・Upon request from KNTC, you will provide the above-mentioned visit services and SV support.
2. Sales activities through Plus One and JoiFUL activities 35%
・Contact customers alone / with sales engineer to identify requirements and problems.
・This activity also includes travel, such as visiting customers
・Provide necessary confirmations and prepare quotations for customer requirements.
・Your goal is to receive 50% of new orders for the quotes you generate per month on one or more.
3. Create and arrange procedure manuals 10%
・Review and arrange procedures on the Shared server.
・Creation of new required procedures with expatriates.
・Creating an environment where procedures can be used for.
・Preparation of required manuals
4. Respond to service calls 5%
・Respond to requested customer service calls and emails.
・Obtain information from Office sales / designer / experts and provide answers to customers.
・If necessary, you will contact KNTC to request a response from the customer.
5. Support for other service members 5%
・Assist other service members with customer visits and service calls/emails.
・Improve your skills through support.
6. Submit a report 5%
・Weekly report / customer visit service report / travel expense reimbursement.
・Weekly reports report hours worked and ongoing customer support information.
・Submit service report and travel expense settlement as soon as possible.
7. Support for parts provision and spindle rebuild. 5%
・. Assist each member as requested by each manager or when you are available.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School graduate or certificate. Wiring experience and /or sequence, ladder program knowledge (ex. Fanuc, Mitsubishi), also machine tool or similar equipment work experience preferable.
2. Excellent customer service, listening and verbal communication skills. Self starter as well as team builder.
3. Ability to travel up to 70%, with some overnight travel. Flexibility to travel weekends or short notice as well.
4. Job management skill. (Supervise sub-contractors and/or customer’s maintenance personnel.)
5. Physical Requirements: able to work at heights up to 6 ft , lift up to 50 lbs., kneeling, squatting, climbing ladders
