Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting and supporting the management of specific
sales accounts to contribute to the growth of the business and increase profits.
Essential Job Functions:
(1) Performs Sales Support Functions and Maintains Information:
by processing sales data and generating sales reports; by receiving, processing, and confirming orders; by creating purchase orders, letters of credit, and sales contracts; by maintaining sales data; by entering sales and profit data per customer/product; by
creating customer contact reports; by documenting new project inquiries from new and current clients; by making quotations and sending them to the customers; by contacting customers in order to troubleshoot problems as they occur; and by performing any other sales support functions as necessary. Assist in projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products related to specified accounts; by preparing sales reports for Management on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
(2) Assists the Management and Expansion of Customer and Supplier Accounts:
by contacting designated customers via telephone, e-mail, letters and in person to ascertain their needs and keep business and information flowing smoothly; by visiting customers to make presentations about products; and by identifying customer needs or
problems in a timely manner, and reporting all problems to the necessary parties by following up on past-due accounts on a weekly basis to ensure that all collections are completed; by sharing price quotes, proposals, and credit terms to current and prospective customers.
(3) Provides Customer Service:
by effectively communicating with customers via phone, and e-mail and handling questions, requests, and claims; by providing information about sales order status; by preparing samples for customers; follow up on sample requests; by assisting claims
issues; by following up on all customer calls, visits, and inquiries; by reporting customer concerns, and resolving when possible; and by troubleshooting any problems in a timely manner.
(4) Increases Profits:
by analyzing operating efficiency, product presentations, and best practices in order to maximize profit; by researching and identifying potential customers in specified industries; and by reducing related logistics costs to use multiple forwarders and
truckers.
Other Requirement:
The Staff Member may work beyond normal business hours when necessary.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the Staff Member is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The Staff Member is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to pick up, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
The Staff Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
This position requires vision abilities such as close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
5. Minimum Qualifications:
A. Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, forms, and instructions in English.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English.
Ability to effectively respond to questions from Management, Staff, clients, and the general public in English.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to individuals and groups in English.
B. Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
C. Reasoning Skills
Ability to apply knowledge and sense of understanding to carry out detailedwritten or oral instructions.
Ability to analyze and use various documents (contracts, purchase orders, etc.).
D. Computer Skills
Ability to use a computer and such applications like Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and be able to design custom reports as necessary.
E. Other Skills
Must be tactful, mature, flexible, and able to successfully respond to multiple work pressures.
6. Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or university, and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
