Detail: We are seeking to appoint a full-time faculty to teach the full spectrum of high school Mathematics courses starting from September, 2025.

REQUIREMENT:

A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a closely-related field required.
Classroom teaching experience preferred.
Experience in teaching ESL students preferred.
Candidate must be a team player and has multi-cultural sensitivity.
All math teacher applicants need to take a high school math in-person test at the Academy.
The test will lastfor 60 minutes.
Test takers are not allowed to use any reference sheet or electronics during the test.
The test
will cover the contents of Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Pre-calculus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job description provides a general summary of the responsibilities and assignments of the faculty.
It is not intended to be wholly definitive; in this respect.
As a full-time faculty at the boarding school, your responsibilities and assignments include, but are not limited to, the following:

Teaching:

o Teach 16-20 regular classes per week in principle according to the curriculum and the school’s needs. Teachers might be assigned to teach extra classes over 20 as needed.
o Teach 1 Academic Extension class per week per half year in principle.
o Teaching staff might be responsible for preparing math entrance exams.
o Plan, organize, and implement appropriate instructional programs and other tasks that guide and encourage students to fulfill their academic potential.
o Chaperon or participate in curricular or educations events/activities as assigned by the School (e.g. Parents’ Day, Open House, Theater Day, Sho Fu Sai, and other educational day trips, etc.)

Non-academic & Boarding Duties:

o Chaperon students outside the campus for extra-curricular or/and boarding activities a few
times per school year.
o Work on campus on Saturday/Sundays/holidays up to 3 times per school year for academic,
boarding, or pastoral functions. This number includes Saturday Morning Program participation.

School Duties:

o Participate in committees as assigned by the School.
o Perform school roles as assigned by the School, such as curator, advisor, officer, or coach.

Other duties as assigned:

Assignment for School Duties will be finalized by the Headmaster in July before the new school year starts.
Your Saturday/Sunday/Holiday Duty schedule on campus will be informed before the new school year starts.

Including the regular teaching, your duties mentioned above would be calculated as school duty/contribution points, and the monetary allowance will be awarded according to the accumulated points in next year.

As full-time faculty, you are required to perform all other general responsibilities such as: participating in assemblies, school official gatherings/events, department meetings and faculty meetings; exam proctoring; involved in disciplinary matters and communications with students, parents or colleagues; and providing emergency support as needed such as distributing meals to students in isolation/quarantine rooms as needed.

The faculty will be expected to undertake any other related tasks as may reasonably be requested by the
School.
