Detail: Job Title: Japanese Bilingual Linux Platform Support Engineer
Location: Remote (US) but must be able to work 9:00am - 6:00pm ET
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical support for Linux-based systems across development, staging, and production environments
• Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve incidents within SLA timelines
• Collaborate with global teams to manage system upgrades, patching, and release deployments
• Translate and document technical procedures, incident reports, and system specifications in both Japanese and English
• Support security compliance efforts, including vulnerability assessments and audit preparations
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed
Language & Communication
• Act as a linguistic and cultural bridge between Japanese-speaking clients and global engineering teams
• Translate technical documentation and facilitate bilingual meetings, ensuring clarity and accuracy
• Communicate complex technical issues with empathy and professionalism across diverse audiences
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Proficiency in Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus) and CI/CD pipelines
• Native-level Japanese and business-level English (JLPT N1 or equivalent preferred)
• Experience in international IT environments or bilingual support roles
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Must have past and/or current experience supporting Linux platforms (including system setup and incident response)
• Must have experience in team management or project management
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• ITIL certification or familiarity with ITSM practices
• Prior experience supporting Japanese enterprise clients
