Detail: Japanese IT company seeks a Senior Managerr (PMO).
As a key member of the Project Management Office, the PMO Senior Manager will supervise project governance, support strategic decision-making, and act as a trusted advisor to IT and business leadership, including close coordination with the company's Japan HQ and other global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the evaluation and monitoring of IT project portfolios to ensure alignment with organizational goals, scope, budget, and timeline.
• Provide independent assessments and strategic guidance to ensure high standards of delivery and risk mitigation.
• Establish and enforce project governance frameworks, escalation procedures, and performance metrics across all IT programs.
• Oversee the upskilling of IT project managers through training programs, coaching, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and leadership within the IT project management community.
• Lead the design, implementation, and refinement of standardized project management processes, tools, and templates across teams.
• Drive process optimization efforts by identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement in the IT project lifecycle.
• Promote adoption and effective use of project management tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project) across teams.
• Develop and manage a centralized knowledge hub to document best practices, project learnings, and reusable templates.
• Champion communities of practice, internal forums, and cross-departmental workshops to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Serve as a primary liaison with the company's Japan HQ to ensure project alignment, transparency, and consistency.
• Ensure senior stakeholders are informed of project health, risks, and strategic impacts through structured communication channels.
Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.• Strong communication skills with users and team members, as well as the ability to collaborate with team members, and the ability to work well with a team as well as an individual.
• Skills as a good team-player, great communication skills, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, negotiation skills,, not afraid of confrontation.
• Expertise in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies; ability to guide teams in appropriate selection and execution.
• Analytical & Problem Solving skills w/Strong capability in risk analysis, issue resolution, and cross-team coordination.
• ITIL Knowledge: Understanding of ITIL frameworks for IT service and delivery excellence.
• Familiarity with organizational change management practices.
• Strong understanding of SDLC
Experience
• 10+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or PMO management role.
Certifications
• PMP, Certified Scrum Master certification, or equivalent
