Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Japanese–English Interpreter to provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for internal and external meetings, conferences, presentations, and executive‐level discussions. The ideal candidate will have strong linguistic skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to accurately convey complex information in real time.
Key Responsibilities
Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during meetings, conferences, presentations, and business negotiations
Interpret for executives, cross-functional teams, and visiting delegations
Support virtual meetings (Zoom, Teams, WebEx), including remote interpretation
Prepare for meetings by reviewing agenda materials, terminology, and industry-specific vocabulary
Provide sight translation of documents, emails, and presentation materials as needed
Maintain strict confidentiality of all interpreted content
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and meeting flow
May assist with occasional written translation (English ↔ Japanese)
Requirements
Native-level fluency in Japanese and English
3+ years of professional interpreting experience (conference or business environment preferred)
Strong skills in both simultaneous and consecutive interpretation
Familiarity with corporate terminology in areas such as business, finance, manufacturing, and technology
Ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate interpretation in fast-paced settings
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Professional training or certification in interpretation (preferred but not required)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience interpreting for executives or government officials
Knowledge of specialized fields (automotive, manufacturing, IT, finance, etc.)
Experience with interpretation equipment or remote interpretation platforms
ATA, NAJIT, or similar language certifications
Work Conditions
Meeting-based schedule; may include early mornings, evenings, or occasional travel
