Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Accounting team and is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, including maintaining general ledger accounts and preparing financial statements and reports. This role supports the business by providing timely, accurate, and reliable financial information across multiple functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General Ledger & Reporting
* Prepare daily production, labor hours, and sales reports
* Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts
* Perform month-end close and reporting
* Prepare monthly and YTD overtime (OT) reports
* Prepare monthly and YTD scrap reports
* Generate ad hoc reports as requested
* Perform department cost analysis and reporting
* Prepare PO reports, Gross Margin reports, SCAR reports, and shipping/tooling usage reports

-Finance & Cash Management
* Perform bank and cash reconciliations
* Record monthly bank deposits and related journal entries
* Analyze cash balances and process transfers as needed
* Process wire transfers for vendors and royalty payments
* Prepare wire forecast reports as requested

Costing
* Prepare utility reports and adjustments, including natural gas
* Review, calculate, and update standard costs as needed
* Prepare cost-down calculations and related journal entries

Payroll Accounting
* Review payroll data and post payroll to the general ledger
* Prepare hourly payroll analysis and accrual entries
* Record weekly payroll journal entries
* Prepare monthly Time & Attendance reports
* Perform additional payroll-related analysis as needed

Fixed Assets
* Manage and reconcile fixed assets
* Monitor expense accounts and reclassify transactions to prepaid expenses or CIP as needed

Inventory Accounting
* Prepare for physical inventory counts and reconcile inventory
* Generate inventory variance reports
* Perform LOCM, capitalization of variances, and PPV analysis
* Analyze in-transit inventory
* Prepare completions and inventory reports

Audit
* Prepare for and support third-party (CDH) audits
* Record audit adjustments and support year-end close
* Prepare and file post-audit sales tax reports for CDH

Taxes & Government Reporting
* Prepare and file Ohio Quarterly CAT tax payments
* Prepare and file Illinois Annual Reports
* Prepare Illinois Annual Sales Reports
* Complete census and other government-required reports

Other Responsibilities
* Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as needed
* Support the Treasurer as needed
* Enter credit card transactions and process payments


Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
* 5–7 years of accounting experience
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
* Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
* Ability to collaborate effectively across departments
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
* Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience using PLEX or similar ERP systems

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
* 100% onsite position at one work location
* Minimum 8-hour workdays
* Weekend work may be required as business needs dictate
