Japanese automotive supplier is seeking a Japanese/English bilingual sales representative.
Primary Function
The Assistant Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and overseeing the operations, associates and fiscal health of their group within the organization in order to meet customer and company objectives for sales, maintaining current business and working to secure new business all while promoting and ensuring the health and safety of the workforce.
The assistant manager must provide strong leadership in the creation of a culture of open communication, trust, teamwork, foster an environment for continuous improvement and performance with internal and external customers.
The assistant manager may be required to manage multiple projects and work with cross-functional teams to achieve total customer satisfaction and to meet all standards and procedures.
Specific Functions
・Provide oversight and direction to the associates of the Group in accordance with company policy
and procedures.
・Communicate with, coach, mentor, motivate, develop and inspire Group associates toward a higher
level of productivity and innovation. Includes oversight of new associate onboarding and providing
career development planning and opportunities.
・Empower associates to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect
accountability and regular feedback.
・Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among Group associates that allows for open, respectful
expression of differing ideas, expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well
as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each associate, the
Group and the Company to succeed.
・Leads associates using a performance management and development process that provides an
overall context and framework to encourage associate contribution and includes goal setting,
feedback, and performance development planning.
・Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary
action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary.
・Maintain associate work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, paid time off, cover
for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
・Appropriately communicate company information through Group meetings, one-on-one meetings,
a propriate email, and regular interpersonal communication.
・Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor and evaluate individual
and Group results against goals; as well as, take necessary corrective actions to continue to work
towards goals.
・Prepares periodic reports for upper management and Sales Global Head Office, as necessary or
requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
・Supports activities of Sales Administrators and takes lead role for local and global projects as
required.
・ Communicates regularly with other managers, senior management, executives and other designated
contacts within the company as well as its Group companies and external customers; coordinates
group meetings
・ Ability to explain how his/her position impacts customer satisfaction.
・Understands and capable of explaining all relevant policies, procedures and work instructions
associated with his/her job description
・Observe and comply with all safety, environmental, regulatory and statutory requirements
associated with his/her job description
・Participate as requested in needs analysis and attend and perform the requirements of scheduled
training and educational programs identified for his/her position
・Perform other related duties as deemed necessary or assigned
Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities
・Leads and directs the work of all associates of the Group and is responsible for their performance
management and evaluation.
Specialized Knowledge
・Minimum 4 year degree in Business or Engineering (Automotive, Mechanical, or related)
・ Minimum of 3-5 years of related Sales experience; Prefer 8 years or more of experience

solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

・ Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Internet, and specialty
software per Group responsibilities.
・Japanese and other foreign language communication skills preferred.
