Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Japanese Bilingual Real Estate Developer with a strong background in hotel development, hotel asset management, and investment/development projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing hotel real estate development cycles, evaluating investment opportunities, coordinating with developers and operators, and supporting asset management strategies for hospitality properties.
This role requires excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English, as well as the ability to work effectively with Japan headquarters, U.S. partners, developers, consultants, and hotel operators.
Key Responsibilities:
Hotel Development & Real Estate Investment
●Lead and support hotel real estate development projects from concept through completion.
●Conduct feasibility studies, market research, and financial analysis for new hotel development opportunities.
●Evaluate investment opportunities, prepare underwriting models, and support acquisition processes.
●Coordinate due diligence, entitlement processes, design development, and construction oversight.
●Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and external consultants throughout the development cycle.
Cross-Border Communication & Reporting
●Serve as a liaison between U.S. project teams and Japan headquarters.
●prepare investment memos, project updates, and financial reports in both Japanese and English.
●Participate in meetings with investors, lenders, operators, and development partners.
Project & Contract Management
●Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
●Review and negotiate contracts, development agreements, and consultant proposals.
●Ensure compliance with local regulations, zoning requirements, and internal approval processes.
Qualifications:
●5–10 years of experience in hotel development, hotel asset management, real estate investment, or related fields.
●Strong understanding of the hospitality industry, hotel operations, and real estate development processes.
●Experience working with developers, hotel operators, consultants, and investment partners.
●Proficiency in financial modeling (Excel) and investment analysis.
●Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English (verbal and written).
●Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
●Knowledge of U.S. real estate markets and development regulations is highly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
●Experience with feasibility studies, underwriting, and hotel P&L analysis.
●Familiarity with hotel brands, management agreements, and franchise structures.
●Strong negotiation, presentation, and project management skills.
●Ability to work with Japan-based executives and adapt to Japanese business culture.
