Airline Operation
This position is responsible for coordinating flight operations to ensure flight safety, economical operations, and passenger comfort, and by assisting with any other flight operations functions as necessary.
Primary Job Functions:
1) Coordinates Flight Operations- by assisting Supervisors and Managers in coordinating all flight operations and activities; by assisting the decision-making process regarding the safety of flight operations; by reviewing and filing flight plans and briefing crews concerning flight plans, routings, meteorological conditions, and NOTAMs; by coordinating the airline's personnel and contractors responsible for fuel distribution, aircraft maintenance, load instruction, and aircraft weight and balance; by maintaining awareness of meteorology reports and assisting Supervisors and Managers to adjust flight plans accordingly; by ensuring that the airline and FAA regulations concerning weather operations are enforced; by exchanging information with ATC, FAA, and JCAB to ensure flight operations adhere to all regulatory and airport requirements; by coordinating the implementation and observance of emergency plans by all Staff and contractors; by ensuring the confidentiality of flight planning and security information; by maintaining all technical manuals, including ATC and weather information; and by performing any other functions as directed by Supervisors and Managers.
2) Performs Administrative Duties- by accurately filing and maintaining documents; by creating correspondence; and by performing any other duties as directed by Supervisors and Managers. Supports crew coordination at local station, by reporting to Operations Management Center in Tokyo, crew replacement due to illness, supporting crew accommodation and crew transport and arranging changes as determined by operational schedule, and irregular operations either caused by carrier or vendor; by maintaining a contact point for daily operation, irregular handling with Operations Management Center in Tokyo and keeping the local staff updated of the handling and operational situation.
3) Coordinates Load Control – by assisting Supervisors and managers in coordinating all load controls and activities; by reviewing and making loading instruction sheet and weight & balance sheet; by coordinating flight operations and cargo staffs; by maintaining all technical manuals including Dangerous Good regulations; by performing any other functions as directed by Supervisors and managers.
Secondary Job Functions:
1) Performs General Administrative Functions- by covering for other Staff as needed; by preparing reports as necessary; by filing and maintaining documents accurately; by reviewing and authorizing payment of contractor invoices; and by performing any other administrative functions as directed by Supervisors and Managers.
2) Keeps Management Informed- by reporting problems immediately to Management verbally or in writing in order to avoid confusion and problems.
3) Complies with Federal, State, and Local Requirements- by studying existing and new regulations; by anticipating future regulations; by enforcing adherence to requirements; by filing reports; and by advising Management on actions needed in the department’s functional areas.
4) Completes Other Functions- by performing other duties as directed by Supervisors and Managers.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the Staff Member is regularly required to sit and talk or listen.
The Staff Member is further required to stand, walk, use hands to pick up, handle or feel and reach with arms. Occasionally, the Staff Member will need to kneel or crouch.
The Staff Member must be able to read and analyze written information on a computer terminal. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are necessary for this job.
The Staff Member may occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or move objects of up to 20 pounds.
Working Conditions:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy (i.e. working in an airport/business office with computers, printers and telephones).
The Staff Member must be able to work beyond normal business hours as necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Experience
Flight operations experience preferred
Load Control experience preferred
Experience in an airline or flight operations services company preferred
Education
High School diploma is required
Associate’s degree / Bachelor’s degree preferred
Or any equivalent combination of education and experience
Language skills
Ability to speak/write reports and business correspondence in English required and Japanese preferred but not required.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform standard algebra equations and calculate figures and amounts such as interest and percentages.
Other Required Skills
Must have well-developed interpersonal skills
FAA or JCAB Dispatcher License NOT required.
Willing to work any hours/shifts/holidays
Other Requirement
A p roof to work in USA legally required. (No Visa support)
Valid Driver’s License required.
