Position Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating and managing centralized shipment operations for a key customer account through the Illinois facility. The role supports delivery schedule optimization, reduces time and costs associated with inter-branch shipments, and helps develop operational knowledge and best practices to improve overall logistics efficiency.
In addition, this position provides day-to-day logistics and warehouse support, including domestic and international shipment coordination, freight and transportation arrangements, inventory and ERP transaction support, shipment troubleshooting, supplier and customer portal coordination, documentation management, and clerical support for purchasing and logistics functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Handle and support the centralized management of a key customer order shipments through the Illinois warehouse, with the objective of improving delivery scheduling efficiency, minimizing inter-branch transportation costs and delays, and developing internal operational expertise and standardized processes.
Other Support:
• Handle LTL shipments, including scheduling pickups and deliveries, preparing shipping documents, ensuring proper freight classification, and overseeing handling procedures to minimize damage and ensure timely transit.
• Handle expedited requests, prepare / arrange heavy freight Bill of Lading and arrange transportation of small freight.
• Operate the Pack Line scanning system for all packages.
• Coordinate both domestic and international shipments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Assist with packing orders, including expedited shipments as required.
• Manage large U-line supplies (e.g., large rolls of bubble wrap) from the dock to the designated area.
• Go into customer’s portal and, create shipping labels and handle special shipment.
• Help attach air shipment paperwork as necessary.
• Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system.
• Print invoices for internal shipments and notify the sales team via email.
• File shipping paperwork daily and attach air shipment documentation as required.
• Inventory handling as required.
• Troubleshoot shipment issues and resolve errors in the ERP system.
• Communicate with the sales team to obtain necessary information for shipments, and notify them of any issues in processing packages.
• Collaborate effectively with warehouse staff to support teamwork and workflow.
• Follow OSHA regulations and all safety procedures established in the warehouse facility.
• Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Adhere to the facility’s safety policies, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Diligently learn new tasks as assigned and execute all responsibilities in a timely manner to meet team and customer needs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support warehouse operations and efficiency.
• Communicate with sales staff and process shipment
• Communicate with suppliers and verify if there is error in their shipments
• Troubleshoot the problems in the system and help run the operation smoothly
• Clerical back up for the purchasing / logistics coordination.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Prior warehouse experience is preferred.
• Experience with receiving, packing, and shipping operations is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including professional email communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work effectively in a warehouse environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent teamwork, organizational, and time management skills.
• Experience working with ERP systems is preferred.
Education
High School diploma is a minimum requirement. Associate or a higher degree is preferred.
Physical Requirements
• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
• Must frequently lift, carry, push, or pull boxes and packages of varying sizes and weights, including large and heavy items.
• Job duties often involve unloading air freight, organizing, packaging, palletizing, and moving boxes around the warehouse.
• Requires frequent body movement including bending, twisting, and maneuvering in tight spaces while handling freight.
• Work environment may include warehouse conditions with fluctuating temperatures, noise, and physical activity.
• Team assistance may be available for oversized or heavy loads, but employee must be able to perform essential material-handling functions safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
