Job Description:
• Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to the Japan headquarters in Japanese and English.
• Communicate and coordinate with the Japan headquarters and affiliated companies via email and telephone, including outside of normal business hours when necessary.
• Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to support business and management decisions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead internal control reviews and drive process improvements when necessary.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve company policies, procedures, manuals, and operational guidelines.
• Coordinate and support internal audit activities, including audit preparation, documentation, and on-site audit visits.
• Supervise and develop Accounting and Administrative staff, including performance management and training.
• Manage purchasing and procurement functions while ensuring compliance with company policies and cost-effective business practices.
• Serve as the Export Control Officer and ensure compliance with applicable export control laws, regulations, and company requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service providers as required.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities.
• Assist executive management with strategic financial analysis and business initiatives.
Required skills :
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Fluent in both Japanese and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with Japan headquarters.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with journal entries, general ledger management, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Proven ability to analyze financial data and support management decision-making.
• Experience leading accounting staff and managing day-to-day department operations.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and process improvement initiatives.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.

Work Location:
Hybrid position in Wixom, MI. Employees are eligible for a hybrid work schedule after successfully completing the 3-month introductory period. Regular on-site attendance is required.
