Position Overview
An industrial construction company is seeking a Project Engineer / Site Superintendent to support projects involving chemical, automotive, semiconductor, food processing, and related facilities.
This role coordinates field activities and works with owners, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings and specifications; estimate project costs and labor hours.
- Contribute to preconstruction planning, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate materials and subcontracted work in accordance with contract documents and quality requirements.
- Confirm that required material testing is completed and results are recorded.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction quality.
- Coordinate subcontractors and track progress in assigned areas.
- Communicate expectations for schedules, construction methods, permits, safety, and quality.
- Attend daily and weekly progress meetings and plan upcoming work.
- Support project closeout, including financial settlement, demobilization, and handover to the customer.
- Build effective working relationships with customers and project partners.
Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in industrial construction or a related field.
- Working knowledge of construction contracts and OSHA safety standards.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and make decisions under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with email and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to prepare or review daily logs and monthly progress reports.
Preferred: A degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or construction management; PMP certification; and experience estimating labor, material, and equipment costs.
Working Conditions
Appropriate personal protective equipment is required on project sites. Extended hours, weekends, or holidays may be required to meet project schedules.
