Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. and Actus will be holding a seminar on recent developments in employment law; current trends in employee benefits; and managing the cost of health and welfare insurance for Japanese employers in the United States.
The seminar will cover recent federal, state and local legislation on issues including lactation accommodation, sexual harassment, salary history and leave policies.
Speakers will also discuss the pros and cons of offering some of the current trends in employee benefits as a way to attract potential employees in an increasingly competitive labor market.
Topics to be discussed include trends in voluntary health benefit plans, such as genetic testing and gym memberships; consumer-directed benefits such as student loan assistance and backup childcare programs; working-time benefits such as telecommuting; and workplace on-site benefits such as free food and childcare.
The seminar will also discuss how to manage the cost of health and welfare insurance, a continuing challenge for employers.
