The company's core technology is neutral-atom quantum computing, an architecture highly regarded for its scalability. Having secured approximately JPY 700 million in funding in 2025, the team is developing control systems and quantum error correction technologies to deliver a prototype fault-tolerant quantum computer by FY2027.
■ Job Summary & Mission
The company is seeking a researcher with a strong background in quantum algorithms to assess, develop, and adapt algorithms specifically for neutral atom quantum computers.
Your mission will be to bridge application-level algorithm development with the physical constraints of hardware. This involves assessing the viability of algorithms on upcoming noise-constrained devices, incorporating hardware-aware constraints into computational resource estimation, and defining the machine scale necessary to achieve practical quantum advantage.
■ Key Responsibilities
Algorithm Development: Identify, design, and evaluate viable quantum algorithms for neutral atom quantum computers.
Trade-off Analysis: Compare algorithm implementations and analyze trade-offs concerning accuracy, space costs, runtime, robustness to noise, and physical hardware demands.
Resource Estimation: Collaborate with QEC theorists to evaluate and refine logical resource costs across distinct fault-tolerance frameworks, estimating the full physical cost under realistic device noise assumptions.
Hardware Integration: Incorporate hardware-aware constraints to implement algorithms that leverage neutral atom capabilities, such as long-range connectivity and parallel operations.
Communication: Clearly communicate algorithmic costs, trade-offs, and future device scale requirements to both internal cross-functional teams and external audiences.
■ Required Qualifications (Must-have)
Education: PhD or equivalent in Quantum Information, Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
Core Expertise: Strong background in quantum algorithms and working with quantum circuits.
Domain Experience: Practical experience with quantum algorithms such as Hamiltonian simulation, quantum chemistry, and materials simulation.
Research & Estimation: Demonstrated experience (with relevant research publications) in resource estimation for fault-tolerant quantum systems under realistic hardware and noise assumptions.
Soft Skills: Strong ability to communicate complex algorithmic concepts and collaborate seamlessly with diverse disciplines (engineering, experimental physics, and software).
■ Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-have)
Familiarity with neutral atom hardware constraints.
Familiarity with different fault-tolerance frameworks and the ability to evaluate logical gate costs under each.
Fluency in Japanese.
