Position Overview
As an Outside Sales Representative, you are responsible for several critical functions within our organization. The essential functions of your job are listed below. As an exempt employee, you will be expected to manage your work hours to successfully complete all assignments.

Essential Job Functions
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and strengthen relationships with key accounts, by maintaining existing business, developing a thorough understanding of each customer's manufacturing processes and operational needs, and providing responsive, high-quality account support. Ensuring
customer satisfaction and retaining existing sales will remain the core focus of this role.
As knowledge of the Company's products, customers, and the Michigan territory continues to grow, the successful Outside Sales Representative are expected to progressively take on additional business development responsibilities, including identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts, developing
new customer relationships, and pursuing untapped business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Manage assigned accounts for the purpose of maintaining and increasing both sales and gross profit.
• Visit customers to promote and help specify the correct products for their applications.
• Develop sales and relationships within customer accounts in the assigned areas
• Ensure long-term customer satisfaction and retention by serving as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts.
• Analyze customer trends, identify upcoming business opportunities, and make recommendations to customers and management for ways to increase sales and GP
• Over time, as familiarity with our manufactures’ products, customers, and territory increases, identify opportunities to expand existing business, develop new customer relationships, and pursue untapped business opportunities throughout the Michigan territory. Utilize a consultative, solution-based sales approach to support long-term revenue growth while maintaining excellent service to existing customers.
• Support Inside Sales Team members with customer related issues
• Follow up quickly, clearly, and in a thorough manner with customers via email, phone, and in- person (as dictated by the situation)
• Serve as project manager on simple to complex projects, including defining project scope, selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, amendments and change orders (With the help of Inside Sales). Prepare, monitor, and communicate project schedules.
• Regularly evaluate and recommend changes to the branch manager on sales application issues, such as but not limited to, supplier issues and customer issues. Implement use of new technologies, cost saving techniques/materials and improved safety procedures
• Work with branch manager and other sales staff to analyze and resolve problems relative to assigned accounts and product information within your area or other areas required.
• Work closely with Engineering and Maintenance Departments at customer accounts to promote our product line and assist with customer applications including price quotes / delivery, detailed technical product info, etc.
• Report daily sales activity in Salesforce
• Meet or exceed the specified sales targets for your assigned territory
Territory
• Area of responsibility – Michigan territory, primary focus on key accounts
Travel Requirements
• Conduct weekly in-person visits to key customer accounts and travel throughout the assigned territory as needed to support sales, customer relationships, and business development.
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Seasoned B2B sales professional with 5–10 years of outside sales experience.
• Proven ability to grow business, identify customer needs, and provide value-based solutions
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Professional demeanor with strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic, accountability, and a customer-focused approach.
• Experience selling industrial, manufacturing, or technical products is preferred;
• Knowledge and experience with factory automation equipment component sales is a plus.
• Ability to analyze customer data and trends for key accounts
• Ability to develop strong business plans to achieve specific sales and GP goals for each key account.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
Education
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and travel to customer sites. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for
extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects occasionally. Ability to work in office and
industrial environments and comply with required safety protocols, including use of PPE.
