The department for this role focuses on asset management business development, industry research, and relationship building with other financial institutions. It supports strategic initiatives and contributes to achieving asset‑management‑related business objectives in the U.S. market.
Role Overview
The Bilingual Investment Research Assistant supports manager research activities and operational functions related to the asset management industry, investment managers, and their products.
The role works closely with team members and senior management to produce research materials, maintain internal data, coordinate meetings, and support administrative tasks essential for smooth departmental operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
●Assist team members with research and analysis on the asset management industry, investment managers, and investment products, including use of external databases.
●Support the creation of performance reports, strategy presentations, and industry reports (chart creation, drafting content, etc.).
●Provide ad‑hoc support for team members and senior management, including urgent requests, material preparation, and coordination of internal/external communications.
●Enter and maintain data in internal databases related to asset managers and investment products.
●Coordinate meetings with investment managers and other stakeholders (scheduling, logistics, in‑meeting support, hospitality, and record‑keeping).
●Prepare internal approval documents, arrange business travel, and process expense reimbursements (including for other team members).
●Administer fee calculations and perform related operational tasks.
●Support administrative functions related to manager research and departmental operations, including IT setup assistance.
●Liaise with overseas headquarters regarding the above activities.
Qualifications (Requirements)
●Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related disciplines.
●Business‑level proficiency in both Japanese and English (strong written and verbal communication skills).
●Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
●Ability to support team members in preparing materials and responding to internal/external requests.
●Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
●Understanding of compliance requirements and relevant risks associated with departmental operations.
